Course Goal: This CLE will explore the multiple legal issues involved in renewable energy law from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. This day long continuing legal education program (CLE) will focus on the mechanics of renewable energy for attorneys and business professionals by examining timely subjects in each of these four states. The CLE will also include a discussion of federal clean energy topics within the U.S. Department of Energy and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.


All attendees will receive 6 general CLE credits. 

 

Course Objectives:

  • Provide attendees with an annual update on regulatory and legislative developments impacting clean energy in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia;
  • Provide attendees current information that will be useful in the year ahead for renewable energy issues in these four states;
  • Provide attendees with a deep dive into North Carolina HB 589 implementation, federal clean energy action with FERC and PURPA, as well as state utility commission rulemaking on clean energy issue.

Attendees also have the opportunity to expand their professional network and meet individuals who will be a resource for future legal and regulatory development issue.
