At Energy Camp, rising Wake County sixth-graders will participate in a week's worth of wonderful energy-themed activities. Wake County educators conduct hands-on energy demonstrations, conservation-themed projects and various field trips and site visits to allow all 40 participants to have a fun and info-packed week.

Attendance fees are held to $200 through the assistance of corporate sponsorships and individual donations, and scholarships are available by application. The Energy Commission has held the Energy Camp in Wake County since 1994.

Here's what parents have to say about Energy Camp:

"If you couldn't tell, my son loved the camp. He usually holds his emotions close to the vest, but when he came home he expressed great excitement each day about his Energy camp experience. We look forward to having our daughter participate in about 4 years. Job well done."

"Thank you for a wonderful and enriching learning opportunity for my child. We appreciate all of your hard work and support throughout the weeklong activities."
